General Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

Milwaukee Rep is seeking motivated part-time General Maintenance Technicians to assist and work alongside the Chief Engineer and Engineers to ensure seamless operation of building systems in a dynamic regional theater—one that blends historic architecture with new construction.

General Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Basic mechanical duties including minor repairs. 
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and company policies.
• Complete minor construction, fabrication and painting work, as assigned by Chief Engineer.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs, identifying and assisting in maintenance needs. 
• Load, unload, and relocate furniture, equipment, fixtures and materials.
• Maintain the grounds, including snow removal. 
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and coordinate support when required. 
• Support task delegation and other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to work evenings and weekends in addition to typical working hours. 
• Basic mechanical and computer skills. 
• Proven quick learner who adapts rapidly and applies new skills with confidence. 
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with individuals across diverse backgrounds. 
• Ability to pass a background check in accordance with local and/or federal laws. 

Physical Requirements:

• Consistently works in high-temperature environments and frequently exposed to loud sounds in close proximity.
• Frequently moves up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to work comfortably on elevated surfaces (roof) and climb a ladder up to 30 feet is required for this position. 
• Must be able to maintain a standing position more than 80% of shift and occasionally work in a prone or kneeling position.
• Able to regularly ascend/descend stairs.
