About the role

• We are looking for a certified phlebotomist to join our team in our Venice office.

What you'll do

• Taking blood samples from patients.

• Collecting other specimen samples.

• Labeling blood vials.

• Preparing the testing room with proper tools.

• Keeping patients calm during blood draws.

• Collaborating with other medical professionals

Qualifications

• Properly greet and identify patients
• Applicable blood collection for laboratory testing. 
• Educating patients about the process and succeeding in demonstrating a safe and accurate blood collection while making the experience easy and pleasant for the patient 
• Knowledge and skills in specimen collection, testing requirements and understanding specimen rejection while accurately documenting the required information. 
• Collecting and handling blood samples with sensitivity and confidentiality; familiar with labeling and storing. Processing samples for the appropriate departments and sending them out to specialty facilities. 
• Expected to comply with all laboratory safety procedures, mandated rules and regulations.  
• Acknowledgement of OSHA standards, medical laws and ethics safe work practices. 
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills. 
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
