About the Team 

The Psychometrics Team supports College Board in serving more than seven million students a year as they prepare for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success. The team provides its internal partners with measurement solutions that set the standard for quality, efficiency, and innovation through operational excellence and research leadership that advances the field of Psychometrics and supports College Board' 's mission of access and equity in Education. 

 

About the Opportunity 

The College Board's Psychometrics Internship Program is an exciting chance to develop new skills while contributing to an organization committed to transforming Education in America through college readiness for all students. The Intern will engage in a unique opportunity to develop strengths in core skills and obtain real-world work experience. Interns will be involved in the operations of the Psychometrics department and will work on College Board's testing programs (SAT, AP, CLEP, and ACCUPLACER). Throughout this internship experience, you will receive mentorship from experienced Psychometricians and Research Statisticians and will contribute to key projects, collaborating with partners across the organization. Interns may be assigned tasks involving, but not limited to, item and test analysis, data quality assurance, data extraction and transformation, automated test assembly, test security, and computer-adaptive testing.  

 

Internship Details 

  • Duration: Eight weeks (June 3–July 26, 2024) 

  • Location: Remote with an opportunity for an on-site visit to our New York City office on June 3-7 (travel expenses will be covered) 

  • Paid/full-time summer internship 

  • Positions: 2 

  • Hours per week: 40 hours per week 

  • Salary: $25/hour

Minimum Qualifications 

Applicants must 

  • Be a current Junior or rising Senior enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or master's degree program in: ​

  • Psychology 
  • Mathematics 
  • Statistics 
  • Computer Science
  • Have an interest in psychometrics operations 

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) 

  • Have a desire to learn, explore, and be challenged 

  • Be interested in working for a mission-oriented, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving Education 

  • Be able to work the entire agreed upon internship period 

  • Must be authorized to work in the US 

 

About Our Process  

  • Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled 

  • While the hiring process may vary, it generally includes: resume and application submission, recruiter phone screen, hiring manager interview, performance exercise and/or panel interview, and reference checks. This is an approximately 8-week process 

 

About Our Compensation 

College Board offers a competitive compensation program that attracts top talent looking to make a difference in education.  

  • The salary for this position is $25 per hour. You will be paid this rate hourly for time worked. 

  • As a temporary internship position, this role is not eligible for College Board benefits including medical benefits or paid time off.
