The Supervisor of Plant Maintenance executes Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Work Order (WO) Programs to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all buildings and building systems. Executes programs that ensure a constant state of aesthetic repair consistent with Facilities Department policies, standards, and guidelines. Execution of all Sustainability and Energy Management Programs. Maintains a constant state of regulatory readiness consistent with Facilities Department policies, standards, and regulatory guidelines. Coordinates Physical Plant projects consistent with Valley Health System Project Management Guidelines. Coordinates service contractors and vendors consistent with Valley Health System policies and procedures.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in commercial or industrial maintenance experience is required.
1-3 years of supervisory experience is required.
Certification & Licensure
Valid driver's licensure is required.
Industrial maintenance certification preferred. Certified is defined as having obtained a certification in the skill through an approved course of study and/or having a state license in the skill.
Qualifications
Knowledge shall include the general knowledge of the operation and maintenance of systems such as:
- Commercial HVAC equipment, including building automation and energy management systems.
- Central plant operations, i.e., central boilers, central chillers, domestic hot water heating and associated pumping systems, medical gas systems, and city water and sanitary sewer systems.
- Hospital support infrastructure, i.e., pneumatic tube system, nurse call systems, medical gas alarm systems, and fire alarm systems.
- Emergency electrical and power distribution systems.
- General maintenance and repair as applied to commercial or industrial facilities.
- General construction knowledge.
Reporting to work at various VHS facilities and travel to and from these facilities is a job requirement.
Must have the ability to work independently, will perform the function of Engineer on Call on a rotating basis.
Must have good team building and problem-solving skills.
Must have good communication skills.
Must have the ability to interact with the general public, VHS staff and contractors.
Must have general computer knowledge, preferably Microsoft Office.
General knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal codes, NFPA, JCAHO and OSHA regulations as related to healthcare and health-care-related facilities preferred.
