Location: Springfield, MO
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
Provide administrative and laboratory support to the Quality Control Lab. This is accomplished by assisting in incoming sample management, handling invoices, performing basic testing, filing documents, processing sample paperwork, and other duties that would provide support to the laboratory.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)
- Coordinates sample receiving and documentation, sample compositing, and sample shipment.
- Enters quality test results into SAP and releases blends as directed by lab personnel.
- Tracks the progress of tested blends and ingredients to ensure must ship by date is met.
- Creates purchase requisitions, processes purchase orders, and reconciles sundry invoices for Quality Control
- Performs basic testing including (but not limited to) FITR, pH, bulk density, sensory testing, sieve analysis, particle size analysis, solubility, LOD, and clarity testing.
- Assists with maintaining the inventory, equipment, and projects in the QC laboratory.
- Assists with maintaining laboratory cleanliness and minor maintenance of equipment such as changing sonicator water, cleaning autoclave, cleaning dishwasher, and cleaning incubator.
- Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for associated laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and equipment.
- Assist in conducting Quality Control investigations and accessing retention samples.
- Files technical documents.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Accurately performs tasks related to purchasing, testing, data entry, and filing.
- Thoroughly tracks progress of blends and ingredients
- Follows safety guidelines.
Qualification & Experience Requirements
Education, Training:
- High school diploma or G.E.D (Bachelors in Science or related field preferred).
Experience Required:
- 1-5 years previous experience in a laboratory environment and familiarity with office and laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of use of the following equipment basic lab equipment such as FITR, density tester, pH meter, balance, and particle size analyzer are not required, but is preferred.
- Experience working in an GMP environment strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be results focused and oriented toward accomplishment of team.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime when needed.
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
