PV Design Manager

Description

Position Summary

Our PV Design Manager will work with a skilled group that designs, develops and installs Photovoltaic and Electric Vehicle support systems and/or associated components focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. Set priorities, allocate resources and manage the engineering and project workload.

Position Duties

• Determine project schedules and track progress
• Perform, plan, set quality assurance audits
• Work with direct reports to determine goals based on company strategy and direction
• Perform performance evaluations per company policy 
• Initiate continuous improvement projects
• Perform electrical calculations to determine wire sizing, resistance and current flow as it pertains to photovoltaic systems and EV charging components
• Perform electrical calculations for AC & DC power systems
• Work with testing agencies to insure timely certification of products
• Perform other duties as designated by the Engineering Manager

Salary starting at $80k/yr DOE

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, MS preferred
• 3+ years of experience working as a design engineer
• 2+ years supervisory experience
• 2+ years of working with CAD design software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of UL/NEC/IBC/ASCE standards and requirements
