ETL Architect/Data Architect (Engineer/Computer Scientist 3)

We are looking for a Data Architect/Engineer to support the IRS IT Applications Development (AD) Data Delivery Services (DDS) organization’s data modernization efforts, transitioning on-prem data and business intelligence (BI) processing to a new cloud-based platform called the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This project will involve analyzing the current BI portfolio and creating a release plan that establishes what legacy functionality needs to be reengineered, rebuilt, and incrementally operationalized onto the new platform, and completing a Proof of Concept to determine the solution approach for migrating and refactoring their data.
You will be responsible for defining the data requirements and structure for the POC and platform. You will model and design the application data structure, storage, and integration process and collaborate with others to ensure cohesive integration between systems and data models. You should be proficient in Azure and Databricks and have experience using it to perform Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tasks and be able to assess suitable technologies to implement the data architecture standards in Databricks platform.

Basic Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience. More experience is required for non-degreed candidates.
2+ years of experience working in a role dealing with component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and systems analysis and design.
Demonstrated experience executing bulk data migrations via ETL tools and developing processes to apply regular updates during an extended cutover period.
Experience delivering work with Agile/Scrum practices and software release cycle
Proficient in AWS, Azure, Databricks, SQL, Python, and Java
3+ years of experience working with clients and client deliverables on tight deadlines
Prior experience working on projects of similar size and scope
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfort working in a fast pace and at times ambiguous project environment
Active IRS Security Clearance (preferred) or ability to be cleared
Professional Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills with client stakeholders at all organizational and technical levels
Excellent time management
Ability to contribute to a high-performing, motivated workgroup by applying interpersonal and collaboration skills to achieve project goals.
Experience with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in software development
Experience testing software products on projects in an IRS/Treasury environment

Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
