About the role
We are seeking a Part-Time, dedicated, and detail-oriented Immigration Law Research Curator to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and relevance of our immigration-related legal research software. The ideal candidate will be organized, have excellent legal research skills, and an interest in legal tech and Generative AI. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring changes in immigration law and policy, and efficiently integrating these updates into our research database.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Research and Monitoring:
- Regularly monitor and research changes in immigration law, including statutes, regulations, case law, and policy updates at both federal and state levels.
- Stay informed about U.S. immigration law trends that may impact the Immigration legal dataset.
- Content Management:
- Curate and update the research database with new legal materials, ensuring all information is accurate, current, and comprehensive.
- Collaborate with the Visalaw team to develop and maintain categorization systems that make the database user-friendly and intuitive.
- Ability to learn basic LLM prompt creation and editing. Create and test prompts on the immigration law datasets.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with legal experts, immigration lawyers, and other professionals to validate information and gather insights.
- Attend relevant conferences, webinars, and professional gatherings to network and stay informed about the latest industry developments.
- Engage with the user community to gather feedback and suggestions for improving the database.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or higher
- A general interest in the intersection of law and artificial intelligence is a plus.
- Understanding of U.S. immigration policies, procedures, and legal framework is a plus.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
