Job Description:

The Sustainable Technology Program Lead is a critical member of the Living Progress team, responsible for leading HPE’s sustainable business strategy and engaging across the company to drive toward our goals and vision. As we further embed sustainability across our operations, supply chain, and products and solutions, a holistic view of systems, tools, and offerings will accelerate progress and drive alignment across the business.
The Sustainable Technology Program Lead will lead, consult on, develop and manage a set of interrelated sustainability projects as a single program to advance HPE’s sustainable technology strategy, including Design for Sustainability. They will be responsible for developing and tracking metrics for these programs, guiding integration with HPE’s product development / product lifecycle management processes and obtaining buy-in cross-organizationally to lead its successful adoption and evolution. The role will reside within the Sustainability Offerings and Innovation team, focused on building a more sustainable portfolio of solutions for our customers, and will partner closely with the product and offering business units and HPE’s technical teams across the company. This position requires extensive coordination at all levels of the company, strong sustainability subject matter expertise, robust business acumen, excellent communication skills, the ability to synthesize complex business problems and devise and execute on plans which address big challenges and opportunities in the environmental sustainability space.
Responsibilities and skills
- Lead, consult on, develop, and manage a set inter-related sustainability projects as a single program to advance HPE’s sustainable tech strategy. Develop and track metrics for these programs. Obtain buy-in from executives and individual contributors to execute programs. (e.g. enablement, process/operations improvement, innovation, and product design)
- Apply sustainability expertise to all programs to ensure activities align to HPE’s product-related net-zero goals and HPE’s objective to become the provider of choice for sustainable solutions.
- Track and monitor market trends and opportunities in sustainable tech and leading sustainable tech programs.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and develop an understanding of the HPE business and overall business strategy.
- Project and program management skills (e.g. certification in CAPM, PMP, etc).
- Systems thinking and ability consider how to drive diverse projects concurrently and complimentarily, including projects within team and outside of team scope.
- Knowledge of GenAI and how it can be used to disrupt traditional workflows, especially in the design process (e.g. understanding of prompt engineering, etc).
- Strategy and execution, ability to digest multiple teams’ strategies across the organization and develop individual success measures necessary that help track execution against these.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's OR master’s degree in business, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 10+ years of Engineering, Product Management, or Operations experience in technology organization
- Previous Program Management or Project Management experience is require
