GPO Program Excellence serves as the pivotal guide, overseeing the seamless execution of our most intricate endeavors through the application of top-tier program management practices. As a project manager, your pivotal role will be instrumental in steering the triumph of key projects, introducing heightened efficiency, and fostering optimization within our procurement organization.

About the Role

Workday is looking for a Senior Program Manager who will be responsible for strategizing, implementing and maintaining program initiatives that adhere to business objectives. This person will manage programs consisting of multiple interrelated projects aligned with business strategies. Having expertise in procurement processes and technology can equip you to provide better support/management contributing to a more successful outcome.

You will work closely with various procurement functional teams on project/program efforts as well as various external teams such as security, privacy, finance teams. You will lead various system implementation/integrations, business process development/optimization, automation projects. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical, or non-technical projects through design, build, and deployment

  • Facilitate the definition of program objectives, success criteria, scope, governance, multi-year schedule and budget

  • Coordinate resources and manage project plans, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule and budgets, in collaboration with applicable stakeholders and teams

  • Monitor and report progress against project objectives, performance indicators and goals

  • Focus on results and assist team with achieving most meaningful activities to deliver critical outcomes

  • Identify project risks and issues and facilitate the development of plans to mitigate or prevent those risks

  • Establish and maintain relationships with executive sponsors and build trusted advisory relationships with key stakeholders, providing timely contact on project status and changes, gain alignment, address risks and decisions

  • Assist in implementation and management of PMO governance and operational working practices

  • Support team and organization initiatives, including OKRs and special projects

  • Communicate effectively and with a level of detail and format appropriate to the audience

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years successfully leading sophisticated, cross-functional, technology based end-to-end projects and programs (SaaS preferred)

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field
     

Other Qualifications

  • Procurement processes and technology experience preferred  

  • Workday Spend Management experience preferred

  • PMP or PgMP certification preferred

  • Change Management certification plus

  • In-depth user experience with Google Suites, Microsoft Suites (including Excel and PowerPoint), and project planning tools such as Smartsheet

  • Strong organization skills, capable of prioritizing multiple priorities and varying workloads with attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrates mastery in all aspects of Project Management plan-driven methodology, including: Scope management, schedule management, financial management, issue & risk management, and execution governance
