ABOUT THIS JOB Nielsen’s Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) is a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly-selective team. CAS provides objective assurance over Nielsen’s reported financials and has reporting accountability to Nielsen’s management team, Audit and Risk Committee, and External Audit partner.  As Nielsen is a global enterprise, CAS has audit responsibilities over 50+ countries. In addition to audit work, CAS engages in projects that support process improvement and critical strategic initiatives to support Nielsen. 
CAS serves not only as an independent internal audit function, but also as a leadership development program (not a traditional audit shop). CAS team members are seen within the organization as a pipeline for future IT and Finance talent with opportunities to grow and learn numerous aspects within the organization. The goal of the program is to provide CAS team members with exposure to Nielsen leadership, and to cultivate the skills/competencies necessary for career development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls by performing IT audits, including IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls. This includes planning, scoping, testing, and drafting audit reports
  • Provide independent assurance on business compliance with policy, governance, and internal controls
  • Be involved in non-standard audit engagements around upcoming risk areas like data privacy, system conversion, new system implementation testing, cyber security and ESG
  • Identify control deficiencies, inconsistencies, and/or incidents of fraud or misconduct
  • Present findings/recommendations to senior leaders. Partner with the business to develop remediation plans and support best practice sharing
  • Contribute to the development of audit process improvements and efficiency, including the development of automated routines, IT testing procedures, and audit templates
  • Work on high impact projects related to process improvement, analytics, financial reporting, etc. and present results to senior leaders

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area (information security, finance, accounting, business administration).
  • Additional audit degrees/qualifications like CPA, CIA, CISA, MBA or if pursuing the same (preferable not mandatory)
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT auditing (IT general controls and application controls auditing)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to pitch out reports to senior leadership and have productive discussions with external auditors
  • Strong analytical, audit, investigative, and problem-solving/critical thinking skills
  • Experience with S4 Hana (SAP) and related modules and/or implementation of S4 Hana environment (preferable not mandatory).
  • Outstanding project management skills and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple workstreams
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite of products
  • Understanding & execution of dat analytics/visualization tools & process automation

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $50,000 - $185,000 USD, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location.  The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
