Uncommon Schools in Brooklyn currently manages twenty four schools serving students in grades K through 12. Job Description
The Associate Director of Operations (ADOO) is a member of the High School Leadership Team and crucial to the day-to-day operation of the school. The ADOO is responsible for directly managing up to two Operations team members, and ensuring the successful implementation of school systems and routines. The ADOO oversees several large aspects of High School operations and long-term projects while also attending to the short-term demands of the school. The ADOO will report directly to the High School Director of Operations.
Responsibilities of the ADOO include, but are not limited to, the execution and management of:
- Serving as the main point of contact for all operational needs in circumstances when the DOO is not available
- Participating actively in the School Leadership Team
- Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the school;
- Managing two Operations staff members, and overseeing the successful implementation of their projects and workstreams
- Managing High School-specific initiatives, for example the HS Advisory Dashboard, SWIPE, etc.
- Implementing coverage system on a daily basis;
- Developing and maintaining the High School academic schedule;
- Owning facilities management to ensure facilities are safe, well-maintained, and meet needs of students and faculty;
- Any additional responsibilities identified by the DOO.
Qualifications

- High quality communication skills with multiple audiences including teachers, students, families, vendors, and colleagues;
- School-based or other educational experience preferred;
- Experience managing others preferred;
- Required experience:
- 4 or more years of work experience;
- Project planning experience, with proven ability to see large projects through to completion;
- A Bachelor’s degree.

Compensation for this position: The starting compensation for this role based in New York City is between $92,000 and $117,000. The starting pay will depend on various factors that may include but are not limited to professional experience, education, training,
