Join our team as a Lead Behavioral Health Intake Specialist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring individuals and families gain timely access to the behavioral health services they need.

In this leadership role, you will oversee daily intake operations, support and guide intake staff, and manage complex behavioral health screenings. Your expertise will help ensure every caller receives compassionate, timely, and compliant access to care.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Access Team

  • Oversee daily operations of the Behavioral Health Access Department

  • Ensure consistent workflows, service delivery, and operational coverage

  • Train, guide, and support Intake Specialists in best practices

Support Complex Behavioral Health Access

  • Conduct advanced telephone screenings for high-risk or complex calls

  • Determine urgency, level of care, and appropriate service pathways

  • Provide real-time support to staff during urgent or escalated calls

Ensure Quality & Compliance

  • Monitor documentation accuracy and scheduling standards

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements

  • Maintain accurate referrals, waitlists, and scheduling processes

Improve Processes

  • Identify workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and client experience

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and cross-department collaboration

What You Bring

Experience

  • Experience in behavioral health intake, triage, call center, or healthcare access roles

  • Ability to engage individuals experiencing emotional distress or crisis

  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (NextGen preferred)

Skills

  • Strong communication and crisis-engagement skills

  • Sound judgment and decision-making in complex client situations

  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail

  • Ability to lead, guide, and support team members in a dynamic environment

Preferred Background

  • Behavioral health, social services, emergency services, or community health experience

  • Prior team leadership, supervision, or mentoring experience
