Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician II to support our Outpatient Pharmacy Team!

This is a full time (40hrs/wk) position that provides on site support to our 7 hospitals in the Hampton Roads and Peninsula area!

Includes Travel to: Sentara Virginia Beach General, Sentara Princess Anne, Sentara Norfolk General, Sentara Leigh, Sentara Obici, Sentara Careplex, Sentara Williamsburg Regional

Work schedule: Will work rotating 8 hour shifts, M-F from 8:45am-5:15pm and 10:45 to 7:15pm

Schedule provided in advance for location and hours

Mileage reimbursement for Travel

Occasional Saturday (8:45-3:30pm)

Occasionally will cover Holidays (8:45-3pm)

Required qualifications:

• Virginia Pharmacy Technician license

• Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

• 2 years Pharmacy Technician experience

• 1 year experience in retail setting

Preferred qualifications:

• Training Experience
• Previous experience as Pharmacy Tech Lead

Job responsibilities:

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.

Job Summary

VA OR NC Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and PTCB or NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

1 year of pharmacy retail experience required
