What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will perform an independent research project that will help contribute to the development of human therapeutics. The Postdoc will train under Dr. Andrew Holland and other leading scientists in the field at our global headquarters and research site in Thousand Oaks, California.
We are looking for highly talented, self-motivated individuals passionate about science and making high-impact discoveries in Oncology. The postdoctoral fellow will explore the biology underpinning oncogenic dependencies with an initial focus on evaluating how targeted therapies shape anti-tumor immune responses. The postdoctoral fellow will take a multi-disciplinary approach combining immunology, chemical biology, molecular biology, cell biology, and functional genomics.
The successful candidate will have access to Amgen’s innovative technologies and innovation and be expected to make exciting scientific contributions to the field, present at scientific conferences, and publish their work. Postdocs will be a part of the broader R&D Postdoc Program that focuses on training the next generation of industry scientists. An overwhelming majority of our postdocs go on to advance their careers in industry at leading pharma and biotech companies, including many at Amgen.

The position is for three years with an optional one-year extension.
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
PhD at time of appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or cancer biology
Broad knowledge of cellular and molecular biology and/or immune system function, with demonstrated independent research eminence through first-author publications in high-quality journals
Specific expertise and a record of publication in cancer biology or immune cell biology.
Research experience with biochemical, biophysical, molecular and cellular techniques, including genome editing, functional genomics, mammalian cell culture, and flow cytometry
Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills
A passion to explore the unknown and make discoveries

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
