Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Scan Ops Engineer 4 to join our leading cybersecurity team. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in overseeing vulnerability scanning operations across a significant part of our global asset base, utilizing tools like Qualys. This role encompasses both technical acumen and collaborative skills, as you will be working alongside a diverse team to ensure efficient and comprehensive vulnerability scanning in a dynamic digital environment.

Job Description

Responsibilities: 

• Execute daily vulnerability scanning operations, including setting up scans, monitoring executions, and addressing scan-related issues. 

• Collaborate in improving scanning operations through automation, scaling, and process optimization. 

• Participate in scan assessment processes, identifying coverage gaps and risk exceptions. 

• Work closely with a global team of engineers, contributing to the effective operation of vulnerability scanning. 

• Assist in mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior team members. 

• Engage in knowledge sharing and collaboration within the scanning team. 

• Support in coordinating scanning tasks and managing resource allocation. 

• Contribute to developing standards and procedures for vulnerability scanning and remediation processes. 

• Work with cross-functional teams, including security, development, and IT ops, to integrate and enhance scanning operations. 

• Assist in managing scanning performance metrics and reporting operational statuses. 

• Support upgrades and migrations of the vulnerability scanning toolchain. 

• Help create and manage scanning dashboards, reports, and metrics. 

• Troubleshoot network and firewall issues affecting scanning activities. 

• Configure scans for effective authentication across various environments. 

• Address authentication errors and improve scan performance. 

• Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides for scanning challenges. 

Requirements: 

• 3+ years of experience in dynamic vulnerability scanning in a medium to large-scale enterprise environment. 

• Proficient in vulnerability management solutions. 

• Hands-on experience with scan configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization. 

• Basic scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, or Bash. 

• Experience working in globally distributed engineering teams. 

• Good communication skills and ability to work across different time zones. 

• Knowledge of networking - firewalls, proxies, IP addressing, routing. 

• Familiarity with authentication mechanisms and troubleshooting authentication issues. 

• Relevant certifications in vulnerability management solutions are a plus.
