Essential duties include the following:

  • Assists in the maintenance and enhancement of legacy COBOL applications.
  • Performs debugging and troubleshooting to resolve application issues.
  • Collaborates with senior developers to understand system requirements and design specifications.
  • Participates in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards.
  • Documents application changes and provide support for system testing.
  • Works closely with the IT team to ensure seamless integration and performance of applications.
  • Learns and applies best practices for COBOL programming and iSeries platform management.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts and logic.
  • Ability to write SQL queries.
  • Basic understanding of Java.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Prior experience with any programming language is a plus but not required.
