Who You’ll Work With:
The Revenue Accounting team of AB is in search of an AO/Senior Accountant to join their U.S. Controller’s organization. The candidate will report to the VP/Accounting Manager and will be involved in the monthly close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries related to various revenue and expense allocation processes, along with any related analysis and reporting. This role will also be responsible for assisting in the performance of special projects designed to improve processes, improve efficiency with the accounting department and re-engineer workflow within accounting groups. Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, this position will assist in the development of account analysis models and the implementation of new automated processes. In addition to Revenue Accounting, this position also interacts regularly with Financial Planning & Analysis, Global Fund Administration, IT, and Brokerage Ops. The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment while still ensuring accuracy and accountability across the team. She / He will play an integral role in maintaining existing standards, while also assisting in the development of a more efficient and streamlined group and process.
What You’ll Do:
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries with heavy focus on allocations
• Prepare and process statistical data, including average Assets Under Management (monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date)
• Prepare and process Retail, Institutional, and Private Client Fee allocations
• Process Fund of Fund Allocations
• Prepare Private Client fee database for Financial Compensation department
• Prepare and analyze revenue analytics (quarterly)
• Prepare documentation for Deferred Sales Commissions recoverability (monthly/quarterly)
• Prepare 12b-1 reporting documentation for Global Fund Administration (monthly/quarterly)
• Participate in special projects as required
• Provide additional support for projects/new processes after implementation
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• 3 to 5 years’ experience
• Data migration & integration
• Process automation
• Multi-currency
• Corporate financial system maintenance, including GL, structures and reporting
• Ability to multitask, execute and follow-through to completion
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative by nature
• Proficient MS Office w/ advanced Excel and Access (relational databases) knowledge
• Ability to synthesize and distill large amounts of data
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Strong client focus with the ability to respond timely
• Can work independently
Preferred Skills
• Excel
• Access (relational database experience)
• SmartStream G/L, Workday Financials or other ledger maintenance
• Cognos Reporting or similar tools (strong preference for TM1)
