    Job Description

    The Encore Boston Harbor Transportation Attendant will help provide excellent customer service to our guests, visitors, and employees.  Duties include the following: providing accurate information/directions to customers; directing, regulating, and prioritizing the movement of vehicular traffic (including Private Vehicles, Taxicabs, Bus Service, Livery Service, Boats, Ride Shares and Emergency Vehicles) entering and exiting the facility; and assisting Security team in the event of an emergency.

     

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Directs, regulates and prioritizes the movement of vehicular traffic around the resort including the Encore Boston Harbor roadways, parking areas, bus lanes and loading docks. 
    • Vehicles include private vehicles, taxicabs, Ride shares, bus service, livery service, boats and emergency vehicles.
    • Directs, regulates, and prioritizes the movement of contracted bus services at various satellite locations, as assigned.
    • Facilitates and aids in monitoring the demand for taxicabs; contacts the Transportation Supervisor with number of taxicabs as needed. 
    • Allocates and directs parking as required for service and delivery vehicles.
    • Maintains access to driveways and dock areas for fire and safety vehicles; challenges unauthorized vehicles and facilitates the timely removal of vehicles as appropriate.
    • Directs visitors and unauthorized vehicles to alternate entrances and/or parking areas as appropriate.
    • Aids in data collection activities as needed, including passenger and vehicle counts for bus shuttles ride shares and taxicabs.
    • Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive vehicles carrying up to 14 passengers.  Driving responsibilities may include but are not limited to: shuttling guests or employees to and from the resort
    • Greets and assists visitors, guests and employees in a friendly and courteous manner.
    • Provides instructions and personally escorts guests to their destination within the resort.
    • Is knowledgeable about the Encore Harbor resort and amenities.
    • Responds to questions and requests from guests, other Encore Boston Harbor departments, visitors and subcontractors, and provides appropriate information/directions in a patient, efficient and courteous manner.
    • Notifies the security dispatcher of suspicious persons or activities.
    • Ensures that the department rules and safety standards are followed.
    • Responds to emergency situations according to Encore Boston Harbor procedures, emergency evacuation plans, and acts as a member of the emergency response team, as directed.
    • In accordance with Encore Boston Harbor’s policies and procedures, turns in found items to security, completes appropriate documentation, and assists visitors, guests and employees in reporting and locating lost items

    Age, Gaming and Certifications:

     

    18 years of age or above.

    Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

     

    Education and/or Experience: 

     

    High school or equivalent degree preferred.

    Customer Service experience is preferred.

    Requires general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.

     

    Language Skills:

     

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.  Ability to respond to common
