Collins Aerospace is looking for a talented Senior Manager to lead the electrical commodity procurement team supporting Mission Systems.  Reporting to the Associate Director, as the Senior Manager, your primary responsibility will be to proactively manage and lead the procurement team to meet the business's purchasing needs. 

Key responsibilities include coordinating team activities to achieve program requirements and ensuring adherence to procurement practices across the business while utilizing your knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and business acumen within a matrixed organization. Communicate effectively across multiple areas and with external parties, leveraging your excellent written and oral communication skills. Additionally, this person will apply their expert knowledge of procurement management to develop and implement customer-focused, risk-managed solutions that provide a competitive advantage.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and coach the procurement teams, including performance measures and metrics.
  • Oversee a $123M spend and 100 suppliers across multiple sites.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge for their tasks, providing training and support to address gaps.
  • Support team members in clarifying, defining, and refining procurement activities' scope, requirements, and statements of work.
  • Evaluate and manage compliance with procurement processes, ensuring all required approvals are in place before purchase order release.
  • Engage with the procurement team to address any shortages, conflicts, or risks with terms and supplier conditions that could impact supply.
  • Support commodity management with supplier engagement activities, including negotiations and supplier performance management where appropriate.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum 5+ years buying and/or planning experience and the ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Government Procurement experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; able to present precise information to internal/external customers and leadership.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems, processes and philosophies, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Supply and Demand Planning Experience
