POSITION PURPOSE:
Evaluates and directs functions and processes related to the scheduling of repairs and movement vehicles related to the maintenance program. Serves as the liaison with Maintenance Coordinators and garage-based administrators. Coordinates, supervises, and is responsible for the timely processing and assignment of workorders in the maintenance management system(s).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
Considerable knowledge of preventive fleet maintenance and practices for school bus fleets and/or knowledge of maintenance scheduling systems;
Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point; Google Apps;
Demonstrated successful leadership skills; ability to motivate and lead staff;
Excellent organizational skills;
Ability to be adaptive and a self-starter;
Ability to work independently, as well as a team;
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
Ability to organize and analyze information to identify problems and devise solutions;
Ability to support and exhibit Wake County Public School System’s core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents, external agencies, and the community.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED;
Five years of fleet operations experience and/or maintenance scheduling;
Supervisory experience in maintenance operations or scheduling;
Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of North Carolina requirements;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university;
Experience with procedures and methods within a fleet management organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluates and directs functions and processes related to the scheduling of repairs and movement of vehicles related to the maintenance program.
Manages the department dispatch function.
Serves as the liaison with Maintenance Coordinators and garage-based administrators.
Coordinates, supervises, and responsible for the timely processing and assignment of workorders in the maintenance management system(s).
Develops action plans for maintenance reporting, tracking of all maintenance repair timelines, and developing efficiency ratings and statistics.
Assists in the development of standards, procedures, documents, and check lists to be used in performance of maintenance and related functions.
Makes recommendations for maintenance software and workorder processes.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.

This position operates in a professional office and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers.
