Requirements for consideration:

Schedule - NIGHT SHIFT 7PM to 7AM

Consideration as a RT I

• Graduate of an accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) respiratory care program.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Basic Life Support from AHA upon start
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Consideration for RT II

• Graduate of an accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) respiratory care program.
• Six months in a critical care environment or one or more years of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehabilitation as a practicing Respiratory Therapist
• Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care or or more than 10 years of experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support from AHA upon start
• Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) must be obtain within one year from date of hire.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Consideration for RT III

• Graduate of an accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) respiratory care program.
• Two years in a critical care environment experience
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) + One of the following (ACLS, PALS or NRP). 
• OR an Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS)  OR a relevant bachelor’s degree. 
• Basic Life Support from AHA upon start. 
• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist .•Lecture (Formal Professional Education). Participation on two quality/process improvement projects using Lean Methodology (A3). Participation in committees. Preceptor. Professional Membership. Cross trained and functional in other departmental operations (i.e. clinical skills, critical thinking skills, preceptor and relief charge skills, quality assurance skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• With consideration for work assignment, routinely (>90%) completes work assignment with minimal assistance.
• Consistently meets established productivity standards.
• Consistently performs basic clinical assessments of the cardiopulmonary system with high degree of accuracy. Occasionally performs more thorough, advanced cardiopulmonary clinical assessments, with appropriate inclusion of other systems (e.g., cardiovascular, nutritional, neurologic, etc.).
• Administers advanced respiratory therapeutic interventions (e.g., heliox, nitric oxide, CNB, Chest Wall Oscillation, etc.) with moderate proficiency and occasional supervision.
