Job Description
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:
The CLS Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordination of designated operations and/or projects within the clinical laboratory.
This is a full time position, with the following work schedule;
Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30am-6:00pm, with overtime as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
• BS or BA in Clinical Laboratory Science
• OR Associate’s in Medical Laboratory Technician
• OR BS or BA in Biological, Physical, or Chemical Science
• OR BS or BA degree in related science fields with 16 hours in Biology, 16 hours in Chemistry and 3 hours of Mathematics
• 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• Independent decision-making skills
• Knowledge of QC concepts such as Levy-Jennings graphs, Westgard rules, and statistical
concepts
• Willing to work with potentially infectious human blood and body fluids
• Ability to work with automated and manual platforms
• Requires flexibility in schedule, working hours and days (potentially including weekends) outside
of normal schedule when necessary
• Goal oriented, with excellent time management, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at
all levels in an organization
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Basic level of proficiency with PC based software programs
Qualifications
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Physical Requirements:
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
- Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
- Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgm
