About the Role:

We are seeking a Sr. Data Engineer with extensive experience in designing and implementing data architectures in Snowflake and MS SQL Server, as well as working with multiple database platforms for varied business use cases. This role focuses on building robust data pipelines, optimizing data structures, and ensuring high-performance data solutions that meet the needs of a data-driven organization. What You’ll Do:

Data Architecture & Design:

• Design and implement scalable data architectures in Snowflake and other platforms to support analytics, reporting, and operational systems.
• Optimize database schemas and data models for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Data Engineering:

• Develop, test, and maintain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines to process and load structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.
• Build data pipelines that support real-time and batch processing.

Database Expertise:

• Work extensively with MS SQL Server and other database platforms for data storage, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Leverage experience with NoSQL, columnar, and relational database systems to meet varied data use cases.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

• Partner with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align data structures with organizational needs.

Data Quality & Governance:

• Implement and enforce data quality, security, and governance standards to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
• Monitor data systems for consistency and reliability.

Performance Optimization:

• Continuously optimize query performance, storage costs, and processing speeds across platforms.

Collaborate Across Teams: 

• Work with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide high-quality, efficient data solutions.

Mentor & Lead: 

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data analysts, fostering their development and ensuring best practices are followed.

Ensure Data Integrity: 

• Maintain high standards of data integrity by developing data quality checks, validation rules, and ensuring proper data governance practices are in place.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Resolve complex data issues through detailed analysis, identifying root causes, and implementing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 6+ years of experience in data engineering, including hands-on experience with Snowflake and MS SQL databases.
• Snowflake: Strong experience in designing data architectures, optimizing Snowflake warehouses, and leveraging its advanced features (e.g., time travel, zero-copy cloning).
• MS SQL Server: Extensive knowledge of database design, query optimization, normalization, and performance improvements.
• Data Pipeline Development: Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines using modern ETL/ELT tools and technologies in tools like Apache      Airflow, Talend, DBT, Fivetran or custom Python/Scala pipelines.
• Data Warehousing: Expertise in data warehousing design and management, particularly with Snowflake.
