Senior Laboratory Assistant - Clinical Laboratory

Under the direction and supervision of the Division Supervisor, the Sr. Lab Assistant I performs capillary and venous specimen collections for St. Joseph hospital Inpatient and Outpatient. Staff ensures accurate and timely receipt, centrifugation and delivery of laboratory specimens to appropriate departments and reference labs.

Required Qualifications:

• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License upon hire or California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License upon hire
• 1 year Experience as a Phlebotomist or Lab Assistant performing blood specimen collections, specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other Laboratories, or experience in working in a laboratory division.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of Experience in blood specimen collections.
• 2 years of Experience performing specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other laboratories, or working in a laboratory division.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
