Job Summary:
Develops, maintains, and supports enterprise revenue cycle systems and applications which may be purchased or developed in-house. Oversees a team of analysts who design, develop, test, and implement revenue cycle systems and automated solutions for healthcare. Maintains support of applications in conjunction with enterprise guidelines. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business administration, or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five years Epic Application, systems installation, and/or systems maintenance experience and Three years clinical information system experience: Preferred
- One year's leadership experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certified in Epic Clinical or Revenue Data Model: Required
- EPIC - CC or EPIC - RDM: Required
Essential Functions:
- Leads a revenue cycle application team of analysts in the standardization and optimization of key processes, building and implementing the application across the enterprise in a phased approach. Provides expert level ongoing support; collaborates with colleagues, vendor product experts and third-party resources to design optimized processes that can be standardized across the enterprise using a rapid design approach. Secures input from key revenue cycle stakeholders regarding design, build, training, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Establishes and maintains procedural guidelines in areas such as program coding standards, program maintenance/distribution, program documentation, general systems design, and security. Maintains an organized and detailed list of requests.
- Develops, recommends, and implements operational techniques, methodologies and policies which ensure maximum use of applications/personnel and increase operations/production efficiency.
- Participates in initiatives to support change management within the primary departments impacted by the designated applications. Develops standardized verbiage to support the update of policies and procedures associated with the new technology-enabled processes. Reviews and makes recommendations for performance measures to quantify/qualify benefits including target metrics, tools, and measurement timing. Participates in measurement of application performance as required.
- Manages staff by participating in the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, promoting, and discharging staff as needed or directed, and conducting annual employee performance evaluations.
