Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Cyber Architect that will serve as a key technical leader supporting the Joint Staff enclave used for exercises throughout the year. This position is part of a dedicated cyber and systems support team responsible for ensuring that mission-critical environments are fully functional, cyber compliant, and tailored for exercise-specific requirements. This solution set provides consistent, ready-to-use infrastructure that supports integration, execution, and evaluation of key Joint Force technologies (e.g., JTT and JLVC) and ensures they are employed effectively during high-profile exercises leading into FY27. The Cyber Architect will coordinate closely with exercise planners, technical stakeholders, and system developers to ensure the secure and efficient operation of Joint Staff-developed software and environments. This position will support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) Joint Staff J7(JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, compliant system architectures within the Joint Staff TS enclave.
- Ensure environments are maintained to the latest cybersecurity and configuration management standards.
- Oversee application and system updates for Joint Staff and JSA-developed software.
- Prepare and tailor environments for year-round exercise use.
- Provide technical support during major test events, integrations, and execution periods.
- Respond to Exercise Control Group (ECG) support requests to ensure environment uptime.
- Ensure systems and software meet DoD cybersecurity requirements and accreditation standards (e.g., RMF, STIGs, ACAS scans).
- Manage system hardening, vulnerability mitigation, and audit readiness.
- Customize environments to support varying exercise needs based on event-specific requirements gathered during planning conferences and coordination meetings.
- Support system configuration and creation of exercise-specific assets.
- Collaborate with EOD TTB, JExD, JLVC J7 planners, and other key stakeholders to understand event objectives and ensure system readiness.
- Provide technical briefings or out-briefs as needed.
- Support early standup and expansion of environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.<
