Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring that productivity targets are met, and workplace health and safety requirements are adhered to.  This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to managing inventory, supervising staff, and optimizing workflow. You will be directly involved in handling, organizing, and moving inventory, coordinating logistics, maintaining inventory accuracy to support the overall supply chain operations as well as troubleshooting any operational issues that arise.

Essential Functions

These duties will include but are not limited to:

• Actively participate in the handling and organization of inventory, ensuring accurate and efficient movement of goods.
• Audit and report inventory
• Manage warehouse associates, monitor work, and ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment
• Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse
• Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employee skills and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Communicate with other departments to ensure products are ordered/ shipped/ delivered in a timely manner
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations, ensuring efficient space utilization
• Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements, maintaining standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security

Skills and Qualifications

• Possession of a valid forklift certification is required
• Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Strong knowledge of warehousing key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Hands-on experience with software to support warehouse management
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage staff effectively
• Strong decision-making skills and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is preferred

Work Environment

• Split between the warehouse floor and office, involving both physical activity and administrative tasks
• May include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends to accommodate shipments
• Constant care to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency
