Your role at Clorox:

In collaboration with Assoc. Director Environmental and Sr. Director HSE, this leader will develop and support in the implementation of standards and initiatives to support our mission of building a best-in-class HSE program built upon risk assessment and mitigation, employee engagement and empowerment, technology utilization and continual improvement. This position will work to drive HSE performance in all aspects and levels of the organization.
This position resides within the HSE Center of Excellence (COE) and will be expected to support remotely and in person, all operations including, but not limited to, manufacturing, R&D warehouses, offices and joint ventures.

In this role, you will:

Enterprise-Level Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with departmental and enterprise leadership, build the roadmap and lead the development and implementation of strategies aimed to drive continual improvement of HSE programs across the organization.
  • Deploy Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) methodology across the organization to ensure pre-job planning, risk assessment/prediction tools and event investigations are properly focused.
  • Connect HOP into an overall cultural safety initiative to drive a uniform way of thinking and working.
  • Act as subject matter expert for HSE maturity measurement tool and establish the objective criteria to validate specific maturity levels.
  • Drive optimization and efficiency of HSE systems.
  • Identify and evaluate technologies designed to raise process resiliency, minimize likelihood and severity of human error and raise safety levels across operational processes.
  • Along with Business Unit HSE Managers (BSMs) identify opportunities and lead or support projects to drive resiliency in operational processes.
  •  Participates in multi-year capital expense management to ensure appropriate funding and prioritization of process safety/system resiliency improvements.
  • Build programs that enable the growth of site level HSE leaders.

BU and Plant-level Responsibilities:

  • Disseminate Center HSE policies/procedures and related Clorox policies/procedures and ensure they are implemented in a standardized way across covered plants.
  • Work across BUs in collaboration with BSMs and plant leadership to create/maintain a strong, consistent safety culture that delivers Center HSE objectives.
  • Manage, coach and develop Plant HSE leaders.
  • Work with plant and center engineering on new technology deployment.
  • Travel to various plants and corporate locations (domestic and internationally) as needed to effectively perform responsibilities and support direct reports.
  • Disseminate HSE best practices among plants.

Relocation to the Alpharetta area is required for this position if you are not currently local.

What we look for:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing HSE, ideally with a minimum of 5 years managing HSE at a regional or corporate level.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA Standards and EPA Regulations
  • Experience applying ISO 45001 and 14001
  • Experience employing Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) fundamentals
  • Familiarity with OSHA or CCPS Process Safety Management and the following PSM tools (HAZOP, PHA, FMEA, LOPA)
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies
  • Experience leading and executing cultural change across multiple BUs / plants

Workplace type:

Hybrid - 3 days in the office; 2 days working from home. Relocation to the Alpharetta area is required for this position if you are not currently local.
