Orion is a leading specialty construction company providing innovative solutions for marine, heavy civil, and infrastructure projects throughout the United States. Orion's construction teams specialize in self-perform construction, including ports and marine terminals, bridges, piers and wharves, pile driving and deep foundations, marine concrete, dredging support, waterfront structures, and other complex heavy civil infrastructure projects.
Orion has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer based in Federal Way, Washington. This is an on-site position supporting Orion's self-perform marine and heavy civil construction operations. Travel to active construction projects is required, including projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii based on project assignments and business needs.
This position is accountable for providing project engineering support to Orion. This includes developing bid packages for subcontractors, calculating project costs, selecting suppliers, procuring materials and services, interpreting project plans, scheduling project work activities, providing project oversight, interfacing with project personnel primarily Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen, and helping to ensure successful project completion and close-out.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with the Project Management Team to ensure the successful completion of ongoing or new projects.
Monitors actual costs and completes current project(s) accounting for materials, services, labor, and other associated costs.
Develops bid packages for subcontractors.
Procures subcontractors, permanent materials, consumables, and services from suppliers for current projects as required by project needs.
Interprets project plans and specifications.
Schedules project work activities according to plan timelines to ensure timely project completion.
Provides interface with project team members, suppliers, customers, and others who are involved in project work.
Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and craft personnel in support of Orion's self-perform marine and heavy civil construction operations.
Travels to active construction projects as required. Travel and the ability to work out-of-town for extended periods of time are required for this position.
Ensures that project team members are provided a safe work environment and are knowledgeable of safe work practices and policies.
Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance with State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
Assists in the development of bid proposals for upcoming marine construction and services projects.
