The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine's is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with ongoing and future clinical research studies, including but not limited to the MOLAR study. The MOLAR Study is a randomized clinical trial that is trying to determine the best way to connect emergency department patients with resources for social needs and dental health. CRCs will be responsible for screening, approaching, enrolling, and following up with patients/potential participants who are brought into the emergency department at MGH to determine eligibility and enroll them into the study.

This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing graduate studies or a career in the fields of medicine, public health, or clinical research. It involves extensive patient interaction as a member of a clinical research team.


 

Job Summary

Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing basic clinical tests and surveys; maintaining and updating data generated by the study.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulator submissions.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Science required

Experience
Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred. Incumbent will be required to take a Qualified Bilingual Test.
