What you do
Is responsible for day to day management of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals providing 24/7 support to our international health customers accessing value based healthcare across the globe.
Key responsibilities include:

To support and coordinate the effective placement of Treatment Guarantees to providers 24/7 across the globe, to ensure our customers have access to value based healthcare in a timely manner.

To support and deliver strong clinical leadership and workforce planning in collaboration with global supervisor support group needs.

Ensure strong cost containment for the department aiming to reduce treatment variations and avoidance medical costs.

To act as a point of contact for clinical queries, claims adjudication, customer issue resolution and escalations, ensuring prompt and appropriate resolution for the customer.

To provide coaching and on the job training to all team members to the standards required to perform the function of a Medical Advisor.

Continuous improvement of the Medical team processes, and ensuring best practice processes are utilized within the Medical team.

Effective management of the company’s Medical Services function and team ensuring appropriate liaison with helpline teams, claims function and the client services function as well as with external partner relationships.

Ensuring all Medical team processes are aligned with the customer at the heart of our work and all other relevant business functions.

Support delivery of strong case management for complex and high cost cases including Fraud. Developing guidelines and protocols for the same.

To assist in resolving value based negotiations where cost of treatment and/or quality of treatment provision is under review between Allianz Worldwide Care and a provider, physician or TPA.

To ensure all existing operating service standards are consistently met 24/7 and to devise strategies to improve these in line with transformation objectives.
As the successful candidate for this Team Leader role, you will be able to show:

Experience in the Health Insurance Industry is essential
-
Clinical experience in hospital / community practice desirable or Management professional qualification
-
Previous Management Experience of people across remote and flexible locations desirable
-
Project management or workforce capacity planning background would be advantageous
-
Ability to work effectively within a global team environment where colleagues are working remotely 24/7.

Strong boundaries in managing sensitive relationships whilst advocating for customers and different and competing stakeholders

Ability to work well in a fast paced and busy commercial environment

Highly motivated & proactive priority management style

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent leadership qualities & ability to delegate effectively
