Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.  We are looking to hire an Electrical or Computer Engineer to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy. 

 

Noblis is looking to hire an Electrical and/or Computer Engineer with a strong background in Object Oriented Programming primarily in Java, C++ or C#; experience with LabVIEW, and familiarity with electronic hardware system design and troubleshooting. The main function of the candidate will be the lifecycle support of new and existing test tools at the Land Based Engineering Site (LBES).

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lifecycle support of LBES simulators and Test Tools which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Participate in Requirements Development and Design Reviews of next generation Test Tools.
  • Rapid development of prototype Test Tools to facilitate design decisions.
  • Modification of existing simulator software and hardware to support new MCS software testing requirements.
  • Design and development of embedded systems using NI cRIO.
  • Hardware and software system troubleshooting on new and existing simulators and plant equipment.
  • Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of current and future systems.
  • Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.
  • Programming PLCs using Ladder Logic.
  • Required Qualifications

     

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required; no equivalencies or experience substitutions will be considered; and at least 

    2-3 years of experience in Object Oriented Programming and electronic system design and troubleshooting.

     

    Must have experience in JAVA programming but will consider experience in C++, .Net or C#.

     

    Successful applicants must either have an active government security clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance.

     

    Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance.

    Desired Qualifications

    Additional Preferred Skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience in MATLAB, SIMULINK experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience with database applications such as MS Access and SQLite.
  • Software modeling experience.
  • Experience with the following hardware platforms:
  • Versa Module Eurocard (VME)
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
  • PCI Extensions for Instrumentation (PXI)
  • Compact Reconfigurable Input Output (cRIO)
  • Compact Data Acquisition (cDAQ)
  • Experience designing and deploying cRIO embedded systems.
  • Experience programming with Ladder Logic.
  • Experience with Kepware Server EX.
  • Experience upgrading hardware platforms of Legacy Embedded Systems.
