Responsibilities
The Painter is responsible for performing painting and surface preparation tasks within a healthcare facility environment. This role involves preparing surfaces, mixing paints, applying finishes, and ensuring a high-quality finish in compliance with safety regulations and hospital standards. The Painter plays a critical role in maintaining the aesthetic appearance and cleanliness of the facility, while also ensuring safety and compliance. Accountabilities 1. Reads blueprints/instructions and examines surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary for painting.2. Prepares walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, and filling cracks and holes with appropriate materials.3. Mixes paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture according to project specifications.4. Applies paint, varnish, and other finishes to surfaces, ensuring a smooth and even application.5. Takes and adheres to all health and safety precautions, including proper ventilation, use of protective equipment, and safe handling of materials.6. Responds to work orders in a timely manner, documents repair activity, and closes work orders upon completion.7. Maintains a consistent and satisfactory assignment completion rate, meeting or exceeding department standards. Completes tasks within specified deadlines and ensures accuracy and attention to detail in all work performed.8. Cleans and maintains painting equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.9. Collaborates with other maintenance team members and hospital staff to ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Experience• 3 years of experience in painting commercial, hospital, or residential spaces requiredDisclaimers
