What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $122,000-$170,000. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Saturday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).

Location & Schedule

In this position you can expect to work on site Monday- Friday, standard business hours, at Denver International Airport.

We are currently seeking a Director of Terminal Operations to join our team!

The Director of Terminal Operations will lead and direct the Terminal Operations section at Denver International Airport and report to the Senior Director of Airport Operations. Terminal Operations is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of passengers and operations within the terminal and concourses, including passenger screening checkpoints, registered traveler programs, federal inspection services, ticket counters and baggage handling operations, emergency operations, and the incident management team. The Director of Terminal Operations will lead the section in managing several contracts, including queue management, registered traveler, paramedic medical services, passenger wayfinding, biometric authentication, and other technology that improves the overall passenger journey at DEN.

The Director of Terminal Operations will manage DEN’s rules and regulations associated with Terminal Operations, including leafleting and solicitation, trespassing, and security while collaborating with other airport directors and senior leaders in the application and enforcement of other airport rules. This position will oversee DEN’s Federal Inspection Station (FIS) in our International Arrivals Hall adjacent to our Terminal.  This position will be responsible for the performance oversight of goals and objectives of the airport’s strategic plan, managing budget and expenses, developing and implementing projects and programs that will improve their performance.

The Director of Terminal Operations will collaborate with various airport stakeholders such as the airlines, airline/airport support services, concessions, construction, maintenance, customer service, technical operations, parking and commercial transportation, law enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, Transportation Security Administration, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest levels of service and continuous improvement of the passenger experience.
