We are seeking an accomplished Senior Director to join our Alternative Investments Tax practice. This individual will play a strategic leadership role in serving private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, and other alternative investment clients. The Senior Director will provide high-level technical expertise, oversee client relationships, drive business growth, and contribute to the strategic direction of the practice.

 Job Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the technical review and resolution of complex tax returns and issues for partnerships (Subchapter K focus), corporations, and individuals in the alternative investment sector.

  • Advise clients on fund formation, structuring, transactions, and operational tax matters, including cross-border considerations.

  • Identify planning opportunities and design innovative tax strategies to optimize outcomes for funds, investors, and portfolio companies.

  • Anticipate emerging tax issues and proactively communicate their implications to clients and internal teams.

  • Partner with firm leadership to set practice strategy, drive growth initiatives, and expand client relationships within the alternative investment space.

  • Lead business development efforts, including cultivating new opportunities and promoting new service offerings to meet evolving market demands.

  • Mentor and develop tax professionals, oversee engagement execution, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.

  • Manage responses to IRS and regulatory inquiries, audits, and notices while maintaining compliance with evolving tax legislation. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related discipline (Master’s or JD preferred).

  • CPA designation (or equivalent credential) required.

  • 10+ years of US tax consulting/compliance experience, primarily in public accounting or equivalent advisory environment.

  • Extensive experience with alternative investment clients (private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, or other asset managers).

  • Minimum of 4+ years in a leadership role, overseeing client relationships and managing high-performing teams.

  • Proven ability to drive business development and build long-term client relationships.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
