The Ohio State University Libraries seeks an innovative and analytical person to fill the position of Digital Access and Licensing Analyst. The person in this position will be an integral part of the Electronic Resources Management team and will focus on evaluating the accessibility of Libraries' purchased electronic resources.

Pending the completion of required training and certification by OSU’s Digital Accessibility Center, the position will perform accessibility reviews of third-party vendor electronic resource platforms and communicate results to support the Digital Accessibility Policy. Evaluations will determine if new and existing platforms (databases, e-journals, e-books) meet the University's minimum digital accessibility standards (MDAS) (https://accessibility.osu.edu/digital-accessibility-policy/minimum-digital-accessibility-standards/), currently based on WCAG 2.1 AA. This position performs the accessibility functions of the electronic resources acquisitions workflow, including:

  • Evaluates vendor platforms and services using accessibility tools and assistive technologies to determine compliance with University MDAS.

  • Communicates results of evaluations and institutional expectations to vendors and documents outcomes.

  • Monitors vendor digital accessibility compliance through regular follow-up and evaluations.

  • Collaborates with the eResources Licensing Coordinator to ensure accessibility workflows meet requirements of Digital Accessibility policy.

  • Consults within Libraries and consortia as a subject-matter expert on digital accessibility as appropriate.

The position also provides support for the licensing program by consulting during the licensing process to ensure license terms address documented accessibility issues, and occasionally assisting with license organization and ERM maintenance. May serve as a designated Digital Accessibility Coordinator. This position reports to the eResources Licensing Coordinator (Contracts Manager) and will be located at the Libraries Tech Center on west campus.
