Senior Accountant

NT Concepts is seeking a proactive, detailed-oriented Senior Accountant. The position focuses on reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing journal entries, and preparation of customer invoices including delivery and collection of payments. This role will also support other functions within the accounting department such as Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Payroll, and be a vital part of the month-end close process.  This position will report to the Controller and will have growth opportunities within accounting and finance, and work closely with other departments within the company including Contracts, Program Management and Program Control. This position requires a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare customer invoices for manager approval including relevant documentation; submit invoices to customers via email, invoicing portals or other electronic methods; interact with customers regarding submission of invoices and collection of payment; resolve complex invoicing issues that arise due to unique billing requirements, project adjustments, or system issues.
• Reconcile and record daily, weekly and monthly invoices and AR payments in accounting system
• Reconcile, research and document labor and billing history to support contract closeouts
• Set up/maintain project information in the Unanet system; Review contractual documents and collaborate with project controllers to ensure accuracy of setup for contract line items, project labor categories, subcontracting, line item ceilings, service contract act requirements, and billing and invoicing provisions for various contract types (CPFF, T&M, FFP, and LOE).
• Prepare and record Journal Entries for balance sheet accounts including prepaid expenses to include documentation for all entries
• Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (including Prepaid and Cash/Bank accounts) and perform general ledger analysis to identify transactional issues and recommend solutions
• Assist in recordkeeping of all charges of corporate credit cards to include download, coding, classification, matching and collection of receipts for all employee card holders. Reconcile credit card general ledger accounts
• Assist with OCONUS payroll reporting and journal entries
• Assist Accounting & Finance departments with other tasks and special projects such as for Incurred Cost Submissions, interim and annual audits and various Year-End closing tasks
• Identify opportunities to improve work processes, enhance quality of service and productivity; update and maintain policies and procedures necessary to support Finance processes.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business or related discipline
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience with computer-based accounting systems, preferably Unanet
• Knowledge of relevant accounting and finance principles and practices, including but not limited to GAAP, FAR, and DFARS
• Strong documentation, organizational, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Highly detail oriented and organized work habits
• Ability to work collaboratively and desire for continued professional growth
• Good written and oral communication skills to interface with other departments, customers and subcontractors, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times
