Apply nowHi, I'm Martin, CIO at Unite, and I'm looking for a Director of Engineering (gn) for our Transaction Services IT Domain, containing all IT services from order intake to delivery. If you are interested in becoming part of an IT management team that takes on all the challenges of a growing and international IT department, then we are looking for you!
Your role
- IT Domain Leadership: You’ll lead around 20 Software Engineers, SAP Developers and Delivery Leads, organised remotely in 3 teams, thereby promoting a culture of technical excellence, learning, and responsible operations.
- People development: You’ll promote a growth mindset and support team members’ development through continuous feedback.
- AI enablement: You’ll support your engineers in adopting AI as an integral part of the software development process.
- Capability steering: You’ll align your domain engineering capacity, skills, and operating model with strategic product and platform roadmaps, ensuring your teams have clear missions, measurable outcomes, and the competencies to achieve them.
- Domain-specific expertise: You’ll support your engineers in identifying and tackling technical challenges in your domain to improve efficiency in development and reliability in operating the software stack.
- Operational responsibility: You’ll be a part of IT management and, together with the management team, will be responsible for the strategic and operational development of the entire Analytics & IT department.
Your qualifications
- Collaborative mindset: You're a team player, making decisions based on cooperation and embracing the agile values.
- Leadership: You cultivate a cooperative and empathetic leadership style and have experience in leading software engineers.
- Profound expertise: You have experience in the conception, implementation and management of large-scale backend development projects, preferably in the e-commerce or e-procurement sector.
- Technical affinity: You have a good understanding of software architecture, with expertise in Java or JVM-based technology stacks. Experience with SAP is a nice-to-have.
- Inspire and drive progress: You stay ahead of change, communicate direction with confidence, and empower your team to execute our strategy together.
- International mindset: You're fluent in English and German, think internationally and feel comfortable in a multicultural environment.
