About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Senior Consultant (Innovation) who will be primarily engages in and supports new product/service development for Medicaid Financing, which includes facilitating discussions with Subject Matter Experts and client servicing leads, engaging in research and market analysis to support product development, and compiling and disseminating developments to accelerate scaling of new product/market offerings. This will include synthesis of available information on a variety of Medicaid finance topics and staffing and managing standing or ad hoc workgroups. The position will support the Director/Vice President, in collaboration with the Associate Director for Innovation and the Senior Consultants for Policy, in accelerating internal knowledge sharing and driving MF new product and market development by leveraging policy and/or financial expertise in areas such as Medicaid financing and revenue maximization, provider reimbursement, behavioral health, medical education, Medicaid managed care, and business development. As a Senior Consultant, you will also be responsible for training client servicing teams on new initiatives and creating, fostering and tracking conversations that create solutions and deliverables, tracking and communicating next steps and follow-up items to internal audiences, delivery of internal projects, project management, and new business activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the health care landscape nationally and in states of interest to bring developing issues and concerns to the attention of the Firm.
- Conduct targeted analyses and research on issues related to potential new Medicaid financing products and/or markets as they arise such as federal regulations and guidance, implementation of state Medicaid programs, and other trends in the area of Medicaid finance.
- Leverage policy and/or healthcare solution expertise to help leads to develop, document and communicate new solutions.
- Perform assigned and agreed upon project tasks through proactive project management; takes ownership of work and produces deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Deliver subject matter expertise, consulting and strategic services on key priority areas for growth; manage assigned primary research and/or solution development; assist with project plan development, analysis, presentation development, and delivery of internal presentations.
- In the absence of, or as assigned by Director/Vice President, may serve as a key internal-facing contact to respond to questions, provide required communications.
- Use personal industry knowledge, connections, business expertise, public policy awareness and political insight to identify leads that could result in profitable revenue growth for the Firm.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration. Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA preferred (or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree).
- Seven (7) or more combined years in a public healthcare policy or project management role and/or in the healthcare consulting industry;
- Seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible work experience in health or human services policy research, consulting, or project management, or 5+ years of post-graduate, progressively responsible work experience in consulting or operational experience in health care and/or health policy research/analysis is required.
