SUMMARY
Responsible for leading the overall procurement strategy, strategic supplier relationships, and supply chain optimization. This role drives the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives, cost-efficient procurement, risk management, and sustainability measures to support business objectives. The Senior Director of Procurement will play a critical role in ensuring timely, quality-driven production and regulatory compliance while fostering innovation and operational excellence across the supply chain. This position requires exceptional leadership, strategic vision, analytical expertise, and negotiation skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and lead the strategic procurement vision, aligning sourcing strategies with business objectives to deliver long-term value and competitive advantage.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic suppliers for raw materials, components, and services critical to can manufacturing. Establish long-term partnerships with high-performing suppliers to ensure consistent supply and service levels.
• Negotiate and execute complex contracts, including pricing, payment terms, service levels, and performance metrics, to achieve cost savings, quality assurance, and risk mitigation.
• Design and implement comprehensive supplier management programs, including supplier performance evaluation, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive supply chain optimization efforts to enhance operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve total cost of ownership. Utilize data analytics to identify process improvement opportunities and streamline logistics.
• Develop and execute comprehensive risk management strategies to address supply disruptions, price volatility, and geopolitical challenges. Establish contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies.
• Champion quality and compliance standards by working closely with suppliers to maintain rigorous quality control processes, conduct audits, and ensure adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives by identifying value engineering opportunities, alternative materials, bulk purchasing strategies, and process improvements without compromising quality or performance.
• Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, fostering innovation, transparency, and long-term partnerships. Promote supplier-driven innovation to enhance product development and operational efficiency.
• Stay abreast of market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory developments impacting the aluminum beverage can manufacturing industry. Leverage market intelligence to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate risks.
• Drive sustainability initiatives across the supply chain, including the use of eco-friendly materials, recycling programs, and adherence to ethical sourcing practices.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, cost savings, and overall procurement effectiveness. Prepare and present comprehensive reports to executive leadership on procurement strategies, achievements, and challenges.
• Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to the procurement team, fostering a high-performance, results-driven culture.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field. 
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Supply Chain, or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5
