The posted salary range reflects compensation for our Newark, CA office. Salary ranges for our Michigan location may differ and are typically lower. This role requires employees to be onsite five days a week at either our California or Michigan office.
The Role:
- Work with cross-function team to identify plant model requirements for MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL/System Integration testing
- Support development of real-time Simulation Models using MATLAB/Simulink
- Design & Develop SW tools using M scripts/Python scripts to automate integration of closed-loop library models
- Work with requirement owners to establish validation metrics for plant models
- Validate component, sub-system or full system model against actual vehicle data from field
- Document and track modeling issues as appropriate. Participate in triaging of model issues with various teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
- Implement performance improvements as well as improve model fidelity/functionality
- Develop software tools to help with process optimization
- Help with scalability of model for new and upcoming products
- Participate in the design of a world-class engineering effort to bring electric vehicles to a new level of refinement
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering
- 10+ years of experience using modeling electric vehicles
- Experience in real-time controls plant modeling
- Working knowledge of electrified powertrains
- Good understanding of MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL simulation methodologies
- Knowledge and experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UDS, and related tools to measure and command signals, though scripting or otherwise.
- Experience with revision control tools, such as git/svn
- Willingness to learn new tools and modeling methods
