Join our elite team in a rare opportunity as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will be actively supporting growth in a dynamic company building critically important solutions for some of the world’s greatest customers. We make a positive difference for our country every day. In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, analyzing financial data, and providing guidance to the finance team. This position requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and exceptional attention to detail. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role is located onsite, in Leawood, Kansas.

Ownership and Influence
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including review and analysis of financial transactions and journal entries.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Analyze and interpret financial data and provide recommendations to management for cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and revenue growth.
- Conduct internal audits to identify discrepancies, improve financial controls, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review tax returns in coordination with outside tax advisors, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes, resolve complex accounting issues, and implement best practices.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff members, assisting in their professional growth and development.
- Assist with financial statement and compliance audits performed by external auditors.
- Stay up to date with regulatory changes in accounting standards and tax laws, ensuring the organization's financial practices remain in compliance.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficient in financial accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
