Job Summary

 

Position is located in Webster, MA or can be Boston. This is not a remote position and is not sponsorship eligible. 


Drives the development and maintenance of property and casualty insurance products with shared responsibilities for growth and profitability. Extracts and analyzes data at state level to determine profit and loss drivers and identify growth opportunities. This includes complex analysis of demographics, competitors and regulatory statutes to create recommendations and proposals for product development, pricing and to write business requirements. Takes a lead role on cross-functional teams.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.

 

  • Build comprehensive business requirements that will be used by the IT Department and work with IT to ensure timely and accurate implementation of product changes
  • Creation of comprehensive and well-written proposals that will be reviewed by upper management.  Presentation of the proposals to stakeholders.
  • Advanced ability to use Excel to summarize and visualize data and to use it to support recommendations (combination of 5 and 12)
  • Analyzes and communicates market changes, industry trends and other pertinent information to affected departments Familiarity working with insurance vendors (reviewing contracts, evaluating products against similar products)
  • End to End process knowledge of insurance operations (understanding how all of the pieces come together  (This is under the knowledge item of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Work with cross functional teams to complete the goal (whether leading or as a stakeholder)  for assigned vendors or projects

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

 

  • Intermediate to advanced project management skills
  • Qualitative analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to make critical product decisions
  • Advanced knowledge of market and regulatory research tools, including rate and form circulars issued by rating bureaus
  • Knowledge of SAS and/or other database query tools
