About the role

Position Summary...

At Walmart, we take pride in being the most trusted retailer.  A critical path to building that trust is ensuring that we are taking the proper steps to identify, mitigate, and monitor compliance risks in the supply chain.  We must know our supply chain better than anyone in support of changing and differentiated business models and an evolving regulatory landscape.

As member of the Sourcing & Trade Compliance Traceability team, you will support the improvement of capabilities to increase visibility to supply chain entities, including upstream origins, suppliers, and factories, and developing processes to help prevent and mitigate risks among a variety of supply chain compliance areas, for example Responsible Sourcing, Trade Compliance, and Global Sanctions.

What you'll do...

  • Maturing capabilities to map Walmart’s global supply chain from raw materials to finished goods to assess potential Responsible Sourcing, Trade Compliance, and Global Sanctions risks.
  • Evaluating, testing, and implementing new and emerging technologies with the potential to enhance supply chain risk identification at a product or raw material’s origin.
  • Improving cross-functional coordination of processes to evaluate potential risks in our upstream supply chain related to individual suppliers, sourcing geographies, and product categories.
  • Evaluating and leveraging touch points between compliance and business processes to coordinate improvements in upstream supply chain visibility.

What you'll bring…
  • The ability to proactively build trust and camaraderie within the teams you work with.
  • Organization, discipline, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to take initiative and have the work ethic necessary to make steady progress.
  • Knowledge of (or interest in) how Walmart buys, sources, and imports products, but recognize that the way we do this around the world is changing fast.
  • Experience successfully coordinating projects across many stakeholder groups.
  • The ability to excel at identifying dependencies and leveraging opportunities for connectivity between systems, technology projects, and data sources.
  • Experience assessing internal and external technical tools and service offerings to determine the best solution for meeting intended project outcomes.
  • Experience with supply chain compliance programs and working in global cross-functional teams.
  • Never satisfied and always striving for continuous improvement.
  • Confidence to step into and lead through complex issues with diverse stakeholders, and the humility to recognize that the best approaches and ideas could come from anywhere.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders, and are particularly capable at simplifying complex concepts and technologies.
  • A “customer-first”, empathetic approach to recognizing and resolving problems.
  • Demonstrated excellent emotional intelligence.
  • The ability to use a data-driven approach to decision making and critical thinking.
  • The ability to successfully lead through change and uncertainty.
