In this position...

The EDS / Module Header Connections and Components TS Position is needed to lead the evaluation, development and robust design/implementation of advanced technologies/materials, and future connection/termination systems.

The EDS / Module Header Connections and Components TS Position is needed to lead the evaluation, development and robust design/implementation of advanced technologies/materials, and future connection/termination systems.  The increase in Electrical & Electronic features and systems and complex Electrical Architectures for both Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) EDS has led to significant wire harness Connection Systems (e.g., Connector Housings, Bulk Wire, Flat Wire, Terminals, Materials, Sealing, etc.) design complexity and packaging challenges. The scope of EDS Connection Systems design and development spans hundreds of HV and LV components over many global vehicle programs.  Further, growing adoption rates in EVs, multiplexing, and high-power components increase constraints on vehicle packaging necessitating the need for advanced technologies in EDS Connection Systems (e.g., Specialty Cable Connectors, Module Header Connectors, Harness Inline Connectors, Bulk Wire, Busbar, etc.) to facilitate Connector Standardization, module/component size reduction and optimal harness routing in this environment.  The EDS / Module Header Connections and Components TS Position is needed to lead the evaluation, development and robust design/implementation of advanced technologies/materials, and future connection/termination systems.

•Ownership/author and governance of EDS / Device Header Connections and Components Design Standards and supporting materials and processes (Design Requirements and Rules, Performance Specifications, Test Methods/DVPs, Foundation Documents, Campaign Prevent Specialist Documents, Technical Design Review Documents, Statement of Works, etc.).
•Ownership/author and governance of EDS / Module Header Connections and Components quality robustness foundation documents (e.g., quality history, FMEAs, Boundary Diagrams, P-Diagrams, SCCAFs, etc.).
•Contributor to requirements focused on EDS, Electrical Architecture, devices, etc. requirements as required.
•Lead for Technical Design Reviews and Sign-off on EDS / Module Header Connections and Component designs.
•Technical Expert for EDS / Module Header Connections and Components related resolution (ICA/PCA/PRA) of field/launch issues.
•Lead for advanced technology plans (e.g., header connection systems, etc.). Safeguard EDS Connection Systems Technology and Implementation.
EDS / Module Header Connections and Components design, testing and manufacturing requirements are critical to meeting many customer functions.  Increased reliance on Full-Service Supplier technical design necessitates strong in-house competency in the following areas for requirement development, technology development and assessment of technical risk:
•EDS / Module Header Connections and Components Design and Testing including implementation of Connection Systems into electronic modules with in-house and supplier sources.
•EDS / Module Header Connections and Components Manufacturing (Plastics/Materials, Advanced Technology considerations, Control Plans/SCCAFs, etc. with in-house and supplier sources).
•EDS / Module Header Connections and Components commodity strategy development and ownership (Connectors, Terminals, Seals, Eyelets, housing, interfaces, etc.).
•Vehicle Assembly and Connection System ergonomics (Ergo Design Standards).
•Ownership of requirements, performance specifications, Design Rules, verification methods, DVPs, TDR checklists for EDS / Module Header Connections and Components
•Ownership of generic EDS / Module Header Connections and Components Robustness Documents (e.g., Boundary diagrams, IAs, P-diagrams, DFMEAs, SCCAFs, etc.); Development and ownership of Robustness Documents for new/emerging EDS Connection Systems.
•Lead EDS / Module Header Connections and Components Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) and signoffs.
•Steering member of EDS and Connector Tech Clubs.
