We are looking for a talented Senior Project Manager to join our Construction Management team within our Education sector working with K-12 school districts. The role of Senior Project Manager requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, knowledge of construction industry, field construction practices and related construction administrative processes. This position provides construction and contract management support and may be asked to help with general project support.
Essential Job Duties
- Overall accountability for the planning, design, permitting, construction, and turnover of construction projects.
- Deliver projects on time, on budget, and to mutually agreed expectations.
- Maintain knowledge of the contractual service requirements between the Client, General Contractor, Designers, and Consultants.
- Maintain knowledge of the contractual service commitments between OAC and the Client.
- Lead or assist with creation and validation of pro-forma documentation (as appropriate).
- Lead or assist client in determining appropriate team and team structure for the project.
- Lead or assist with developing and accessing procurement strategies and delivery of FF&E or other segments of the client’s budget.
- Lead or provide support in site selection analysis and decision making.
- Facilitate involvement of the project’s key stakeholders at appropriate levels and times.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate hand-off the facility to client’s operations personnel.
- Develop and mentor staff as appropriate or assigned.
- Facilitate and reconcile differences using conflict resolution techniques.
- Monitor performance of self, individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Develop or advise on development of warranty strategies.
- Lead or assist with development and management of overall project budget, as appropriate to meet client requirements.
- Guide design development and construction through the applicable funding requirements and government processes at Federal, State and Local levels.
- Guide design development through applicable sustainability reviews or building certification preparations to meet project/client requirements.
- Support client’s project administrative needs as appropriate.
- Contribute and own the development of program processes and tools that facilitate consistency and quality execution across the project/program.
- Drive to various job sites/offices.
May include other duties, as assigned.
RequirementsRequired Experience & Education
- BS in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- 7+ years' project and construction management experience or equivalent required.
- 3+ years' experience in management of professional staff and internal teams.
- Experience with Education, Civic, or other Public projects.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience with web-based project management tools.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) or other scheduling software.
- Professional accreditation, certification or knowledge of PMP, LEED, AIA, PE, GCCM, DBIA.
- Demonstrated experience in management of professional staff.
- Must have an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience with progressive design-build, GC/CM or other alternative delivery methods.
- Experience with proprietary project management software required, Microsoft Project experience preferred.
