SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Communications and Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing the district's public-facing digital footprint and executes comprehensive communications campaigns. This role bridges the gap between high-level district strategy and daily content production, managing project workflows, and ensuring a unified district voice. This position reports directly to the Director of Communications and provides project direction to creative staff, including the Digital Media Coordinator

REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Any combination of education, training, and/or experience equivalent to: BA Degree in Digital Media Arts, Communications, or related field, and three (3) years of experience in Digital Media production, photography, and/or visual and graphic design for print, web, and social media, as well as setup, breakdown, and maintenance of related equipment and software
    • Valid Colorado Driver's License
    • Reliable Transportation
    • Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary


PREFERRED:

  • Master's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Extensive experience/knowledge with social media platforms use and best practices
  • Accreditation in public relations by national association
  • Bilingual (Spanish)


 
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Advanced oral, written, interpersonal communication, proofreading (grammar, style, syntax, spelling, and punctuation), research and analytical skills
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with digital video and still cameras
  • Demonstrated success in research, development, implementation and evaluation of strategic communication plans
