JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Brandywine is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant (part-time) to provide on-campus support for its Academic Affairs and Student Disability Resources Departments.
This opening may offer a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
Job Duties
Primary responsibilities for Academic Affairs include:
- Assist the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs with part-time faculty hiring.
- Help plan and organize academic events.
- Handle reimbursements and related administrative tasks.
- Answer phone calls and manage office communications.
- Maintain office supply inventories.
- Support faculty with administrative requests.
- Assist academic committees and programs.
- Draft written correspondence.
- Manage and update databases.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academic Affairs department.
Primary responsibilities for Student Disability Resources include:
- Processing and scheduling exam accommodations
- Proctoring exams
- Assisting with events and operations of the SDR Center
This opening is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Additional assistance may be requested during summer months.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Database experience preferred.
- This opening handles confidential information and correspondence, and the successful candidate must be able to use discretion in carrying out assigned duties.
- Candidates must possess excellent attention to detail, demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, have a customer service background, and be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
