Purpose
The Administrative Associate will provide administrative support for faculty running grants through the Texas Materials Institute and some administrative support to the Materials Science and Engineering graduate program.
Responsibilities
Manages purchasing and payments for faculty TMI grants
Maintains and reconciles TMI research accounts and provides financial information monthly
Manages UT commercial cards for all TMI core faculty
Processes travel requests on grant accounts and Material Science and Engineering travel requests
Processes tuition and scholarship payments on TMI grant accounts
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with one year of experience at the administrative assistant level or a High School Diploma and five years of clerical experience
Customer service, event planning, recruiting, account management, or related experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding organizational skills, attentiveness to detail, and time-management skills
Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a team member and independently
Ability to effectively manage a high volume of work
Punctuality and professional demeanor
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
UTRMS and grant knowledge
Experience working in an academic environment
Experience with University of Texas policies, procedures and administrative systems
